This bottling was launched in 2019 and was the first release in Aberfeldy’s Red Wine Cask Collection. The whisky was finished in Pomerol casks for around 4 – 5 months.

This bottling was launched in 2020 and was the second in Aberfeldy’s Red Wine Cask Collection. The whisky was finished in Pauillac casks for around 4 – 5 months.

CASK TYPE
18 years in a combination of re-fill and re-char Bourbon casks, the whisky was then finished for around six months in French red wine casks sourced from the Côte Rôtie appellation.
WE LOSE A FAIR BIT TO THE ANGLELS
The ‘Angels’ Share’ is the whisky lost over the years while the liquid is maturing in oak casks, disappearing into the air before we’re ready to bottle.
Almost half a cask is lost before we’re ready to finish and bottle our Aberfeldy 18 year old.
